Stealing Beauty, Possession Obsession

I am currently so much in awe of classic film actress Anna Karina’s beauty. She is so stunning in the most absolute way possible. It’s incredible and almost comparable to looking at them shoes I desire to own.

Please help yourself and take a look.

A woman is a woman and beauty does something to us. I love how it stirs me up inside, it's very inspiring.

BONUS VID: A friend found this on You Tube. Someone made a video of The Pixies' "Wave of Mutilation", using clips from Anna Karina's ex-hubby Godard's movie "Pierrot Le Fou" (where she also starred in). It's a beautiful vid that's well-fitted for the song. I can watch and listen to it 100x in a day.

Taken By Cars

(Time Magazine wrote about how French people, in general, are big on luxury in terms of designer fashion, cosmetics and jewelry, while the Germans would rather mostly spend their fortune on expensive cars.)
So anyhoo, that Tarantino movie where Kurt Russell plays a psycho driver-stuntman was dope. I’ve also watched a lot of Night Rider when I was a kid. Other than these, I’m really not a car aficionado. It’s just a form of transpo, you see. Plus, cars look the same to me. ‘Xcept that these beauties are so articulate in design, I noticed me staring at them details of these ‘60s Ferrari and Lamborghini far longer than normal. Click at the pics for a bigger view. Nice, eh?

Got these photos from Mirage. And you know, I kept on saying that Mirage Magazine is from London. But I looked it up online and apparently, it’s a German read that’s just written in English. Kinda odd how I never found it from the actual magazine, or maybe I should browse thru it more than 2x he, he.

Ooh La La PROUDRACE

I think it was Madonna - from some magazine article I've read a long time ago - who said that the trick is to keep evolving.

Proudrace, a trio of brilliant 20somethings who made pop the slogan shirts in this country, does fine at it -> evolving. (My hunch, actually, is that a good understanding of their niche had played well for them). Here’s to share what they've got nowadays. These are my faves from their new stuff:

A Life Less Ordinary

I have a number of girl crushes on Hollywood celebs: Rose McGowan in Tarantino/Rodriguez flicks; Kate Bosworth in Preen or Balenciaga and in that movie "21"; Angelina Jolie; Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux; Winona Ryder in "Mermaids" and "Reality Bites". But most of all, I'm big on Milla Jovovich. (I do like to, uhh, c-h-a-n-n-e-l, ha, ha, her and stuff like that, but not really. It's just that when not so good things happen, I sort of pretend that I'm Alice in Resident Evil). Fact is, her movie costumes are so rockin', so kickazz...

Above (Left): In Fifth Element, it's those boots and tights and belt and that thing that somewhat looks like a rubber harness or suit -- whatever it's called, it looks great. Above (Right): In Resident Evil Apocalypse, it's that sheer sando over a bright red bra. The pants look cool ripped at one side, and then the strapped-on weapons, too, yep.

This Leeloo suit is so chic and her Ultraviolet costume is just so friggin amazing down to the jacket and them gloves. Tisk, tisk.

Here in Resident Evil 1, can I just shout: Leather Jacket!!!!

Too stoked for words on her (Resident Evil Extinction) ensemble.

Whoo-hooooooo!!!! ('Tis another one off Ultraviolet.)

ReShots and Re-shots

I like good portraits. I think Mark "The Cobrasnake" Hunter does them more than alright with his cam. He's been to Manila several times already and he seems like a pretty nice guy. (I'm just not that keen on glancing at his tight shirt and boxers. Maybe those hairy legs, too, so am I gonna get called an a**hole again for saying this?)

There's a feature on Mark/TheCobrasnake from this London mag called Mirage. They re-shot his shots, which I've also re-shot with my phone cam (Should I buy a real camera?):

Fried Day...I'm in Luv.

It's just that it feels like I blabber too much lately. And that, these photos are so totally mental. And then, too, there's the thrill of finally having a crush on someone new for months now. (Laugh!)

Happy weekend! :)

(So like, Jak & Jil should really be published into a book or at least mentioned in French Vogue or something like that, really.)

Sibling Revelry

If I were a fashion director, they'll be my top duo.

Yep, they're sibs and they do model on the side. I think they look neat -- the way that the new breed of local models should be. These are stolen photos from their myspace profile he he he.

And, please, can we stop the spurt of Brazilian models around here already? They're, uhh.... you can fill in the blanks for me. I'm heading out to party and keeping my fingers crossed that my crush is there.

(Don't get me wrong, I liked Corned Beef from Brazil till I stopped eating cows because they do shed tears, etc. Good thing, my gun heels are made of satin, I think.)

Heartbreak Kid

Today’s a national holiday here in the Philippines. =D

Long weekend, no work on a Monday, it’s such a luxury. I feel like a cool chick, smug from the extra available time to lounge around in bed and go over some eye candy from the internet after flipping thru some magazines.

Found this pic of a strikingly beautiful boy. Got to post it for y'all, ‘cos he’s so stunning.

The only problem is - I forgot to note where I found it. Have you come across this photo before? Help ghost blogger me identify the image source, yeah?

The New Bond Girl, That Preen Dress, Black Lips

Why is it that when you're madly and deeply in love with someone, things remind you of that person a lot? Or in my case, this pic of the new bond gal Olga (let's not get into her surname, it's hard) reminds me of the Chanel Gun Heels.

Happy early thanks to Rahimah, the Singapore Chanel Store Supervisor, it should arrive around next week to early December. Just in time for my birthday ;)

On a somewhat different note, this past season's Preen dress was my thing before the Pistol heels. Mid-year, I went with my BFFs to all the stores in HK which carried Preen but the dress was nowhere to be found, I almost wept. Not being able to have this dress is a huge frustration. Thinking of it right now makes me sad still he he :) :(

On a kind of different note again, because of the soft goth trend this season, black lips (like the color I wanted for my killer heels) are so back. I remember what it was like to be grunge gurl. Before I went for the rave look in the late 90s (I've been doing a lot of 90s reminiscing, eh?), I was always in my standard jeans/long plaid skirt, combat boots/one star converse sneaks and tattered shirts. Add to that the black lips and black nails (that's why I can't seem to paint my nails black again these days). My mum wasn't a fan of this look though. She was always on the verge of throwing out my shirts. The logic behind that way of dressing was that, since everyone was trying to look really nice and zany, I wanted to look really ugly and dirty. Rest assured, I always smelled good. =D

Being sort of experienced when it comes to black lips, what you can do is to use black eyeliner over cream brown lipstick. The lipstick part is optional. Add some lip balm on top to minimize the cracked look.
And dang, it always looked cracked on me, now that I mentioned it. But I was low on funds at that time and couldn't afford a good black lip color so it was nice to be resourceful.

BONUS PIC: Leigh Lezark in my supposed Preen Dress. (How come she gets to wear the stuff I like including the gun heels, hmmm?)
