I Bleed Neon

Because you think I should get my hands on a camera, I did not follow your advice. I just thought to myself: "Woman, you really should buy a decent shooter." I trust me, you know.

Last night after a grueling day at work, I managed to put my new toy to the test with random shots at, and of, Jujiin Samonte's "Exhibit Number One" in Trilogy, Rada St. (X2 had a grab at it, too, of course.)

Crispy Creams and Kendi Sprinkles

You usually want to be in sync with your partner. If X2 is in the mood for colors, I'll join him.

For starters, there is indulgence in imaginings of Risto Bimbiloski's upcoming designs for Spring 2010, where most will focus on prints of "beautiful, dangerous, and random phenomena" (a.k.a. volcanoes, storms, etc.).

It seems to me that them kaleidoscopic photos and digi-print thingies (of the jungle, metal, cement, galaxies and what-have-yah) on fabric will get even bigger next season.

And because Bimbiloski becomes more threateningly fierce as we speak, we may want to get acquainted (if you haven't) with his F/W 2009 collection. I'm digging his stuff, really.
No pressure, but in the future, I hope he lives up to expectations, because I'm really rooting for him. (True, even if I'm not a fan of Vuitton whom he does knitwear for.)
I want that jacket up here on the right side - eagle eyes, eagle eyes, eagle eyes - and in the below pic is an amazingly gorgeous dress. How so stunning.

Talk about stunning! Look at Leigh Lezark's thingy for Brit mag Tatler.
(I like her blond. I like her raven-haired.)

Leigh Lezark is my fave hipster ever. Did I mention that she's unstoppable in some cartoon-printed Versace number?

About cartoons, I got hit by the "Up" bug as well. It's a brilliant flick that's even more brilliant in 3D. And because its impression on me is not wearing off overnight, I would like to take this opportunity to post a couple of my most favorite CD covers from almost 3 years ago:

1. Best Fwends "Alphabetically Arranged"

2. Architecture in Helsinki "Places Like This"
Oh gawd this is a long post. LOL.
XOXO

A Life Less Ordinary

I don't filter colors like I used to, not for this post, at least.

Here's to blog about some sketches of Pinoy contempo-artist
Kiko Escora...
The artist in his studio, beside one of his works.
Some of his charcoal drawings from the previous year..
and these...
He's effortlessly stylish, too, in those Dior Homme pants and boots
+ them white Van Assche sneaks.
BONUS PIC: Kiko also does the decks as electro-rawking discojockey KIKIMACHINE.
Side Note: These are just samples of his works. There is more via www.myspace.com/kokix and www.myspace.com/manilaanimal.
(I actually just swiped every thing from there, except for the shoes and pants' pic which belongs to Style Samurai.)

P.S. - I tried to do an "art" post, tried harder to talk the talk but ended up sounding like a mindless robot, as usual. LOL.
I'm such a poser!:p
XOXO

**DISCLAIMER: I'm writing this additional note, hours after publishing this post. Because I'm not an "art" person and won't be able to do his work any justice by elaborating on it, the focus here, instead - thru casual, thoughtless blogging - is on the multi-facets of this man's thingy as artist/painter, "musician" and stylista. Ergo, it's very appropriate to conclude that when I grow up, I wanna be Kiko Escora.

Decadent Mess, Life in Mono

Haven't posted the usual phone cam photos of magazine spreads that caught my fancy. Fact that these are back issues now don't matter, I'm just indulging my can't-make-anyone-love-you state of mind at this moment. I'm not sad very often, I hope blogging proves therapeutic.

Who Moved My Cheese?

Has it ever happened to you that one day, suddenly, you’re reading about Hollywood gossip and nothing else? Okay, okay. Not to me really. But what’s the best excuse for not blogging much? Uhh… ha ha ha! ;)

Glad to be back. And so, I’m also thinking of how much I adore this space in some Parisian apartment (wish I can live in Paris)…

and the furniture on this…

… and how kind of funny this leather underwear looks…

… and this denim underwear, too...

… and that, lastly for now, I am attracted to this spread (is it the fan? summer time and stuff?)...
GOODNIGHT! :-)

Uh-Huh.

Sometimes, you come across a photo that you have no words for. Just now, I read some text that I have no suitable image to mix with:

“But the world has so many problems – in war, in banks – and, like in the Eighties, fashion has to be powerful at a time of social crisis. It’s not about creating trends that can be copied, but about creating an identity that is clear…”

-- Riccardo Tisci, Givenchy’s 34-year old Creative Director, to Brit Vogue Feb Ish

(There are things I’m engrossed in that I’m afraid to express with most people I associate with. They are things that might get me misunderstood, things that they probably are not interested in, things that are so thoroughly embedded in me – they must be let out or I will be numbed. I’m not that interested in fashion, I’m just passionate about style and that semblance of intelligence that must mingle with it…so I blog. Gawd, I luv you, blog.)

Ahh... Finally ;)

Couldn't decide which pic you'd like. Out of around 8 shots, was able to narrow it down to just 5.

Life's the best! =D

For my sistah, too, Alicia. :)

X1 + X2 = The Monochromator

In optics, a monochromator is an instrument that isolates a selected portion of the spectrum.
In 3rd World Manila, the monochromator is flying out to a more progressive shopping place in Asia to pick up her sole mate... later already!!!! Woohoo!!!

Anyhoo, you guys are familiar with purchasing a mag and not having much of a time to really browse thru it until after a month, yes? So like, I've just started really going over Jan's Brit Vogue Ish today and have found out about myself that I cannot ever outgrow my attraction to black lipstick...

I think charcoal lips would be gorgeous with a red top or dress and more so with white and nude colors (and why not with blue or pink?). Maybe I’d put on black lipstick at the beach or something. Yep, just when the sun is at its brightest and its light in its harshest. But really, think Leigh Lezark with her black hair, blue eyes and pale skin with black lips in a white ensemble. Sounds alright, eh?

I’m digging these lace gloves here (would be okay for the summer season even, might be a fine alternative to bracelets):

And geez, as days go by, these Alexander Wang booties are really beginning to grow on me. Big time.

(Of course, there’s also them strappy-studded Balmain stilettos to think about. Will post said shoes another day. And I thought I was just talking about flying out to pick up my sole mates later.)

(Speaking of mates, X2 is coming up soon. He’s my evil twin, the fierce one. Or maybe, he’s kinda bored and could use some blogging therapy, too. LOL.)
